Kjo
Stay With Me
Kjo has been living with cancer for over a decade, and it has taught her so much about living her life to the fullest. For her 40th birthday, she was diagnosed with a rare endometrial cancer. Four years later it came back and soon after tumors and part of her left lung were removed. For her 50th birthday, she was diagnosed with a second rare cancer, a very rare and aggressive neuroendocrine small cell. This WTF moment sparked a deep desire to stop holding back.
Kjo enjoys dual success as a musician and voiceover artist. At just four years old, she began tickling the ivories. When she turned sixteen, this fiery-eyed red-head started writing songs, playing guitar, singing lead vocals and earned a reputation on stage for staring down her prey at live shows. She performs jazz piano and has performed original music in front of audiences of 30,000 while opening for such artist as Foo Fighters, Godsmack, Kid Rock, Econoline Crush, Elvis Costello, Cyndi Lauper and more.
After many successful years of touring in a rock band and owning her own record label which followed attending the University of Wisconsin for piano performance, Kjo took a corporate gig with a music equipment manufacturer traveling the world. Years of globetrotting and two million airline miles later, her diverse musical and cultural experiences helped develop a tuned ear and appreciation of international music.
Kjo currently lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Kirk and cat, DJ Sqeakle V. In her spare time she enjoys photography, motorcycling, horseback riding, international travel, rescuing animals, Pilates, organizing, gadgets, champagne, eating, Green Bay Packers football games and bonfires.
