Jamie is a San Diego-based singer and frontwoman for her funky party band, Mojo Strut. Playing a broad range of styles, Mojo Strut covers funk, soul, rock, R&B, pop, blues, and hiphop. And when Jamie’s not strutting her stuff with the Mojo crew, she’s singing with The Red Cars, San Diego’s tribute to the hits of The Cars.
Jamie brings passion & joy to the stage and aims to treat every gig as a celebration of life! She believes that live music is a gift that creates positivity, healing, and catharsis – not only for the audience, but also for the musicians, themselves. And she’s felt this way LONG before having cancer!
Jamie was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in April of 2025. Her family carries a gene mutation that causes an increased chance of breast & ovarian cancer. Jamie’s mother, sister, and other relatives in her family have all survived breast cancer, and though she’d always hoped it would never happen to her, Jamie has been well-aware of her predisposition and on top of her health for decades. Fortunately, she caught her cancer early enough that it hadn’t spread to other parts of her body, and she thanks her lucky stars (and modern medicine) every day!
Jamie knew treatment would be a challenge, and though she was scared, she held strong to the fact that she comes from a long line of resilient survivors. And having been through severe health crises in the past, Jamie was prepared for the journey with enormous inner strength, as well as love and support from all her friends & family.
Fast forward to today, and she’s blessed with a calendar full of gigs and a healthy body! Jamie has returned to the stage with more gusto and an even deeper sense of gratitude. She wishes to share her immense gratitude for the opportunity to record with Cancer Can Rock. Now that she’s finished with treatment, she’s ready to embrace the joy of performing and celebrating life!
