David Kitchen is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who is restlessly active in the local music scene. He plays and sings originals and interesting covers, in a totally approachable, energetic way. The Washington Post called his music “a mixture of charm, attitude and tunefulness” and the Washingtonian magazine remarked, “he has a knack for writing clean pop driven rock with just enough soul and grit”.
He has won several awards from The Washington Area Music Association (Wammies), including Songwriter of the Year and Best Pop Vocalist. David regularly continues the DC tradition of playing a wide variety of music with own group as well as with The Thrillbillys, The Cahoots and Swell, and can be seen at fine venues and dive bars alike.
“Nobody Knows You (Better Than I Do)” is an example of David’s collaboration with the music community. The lyrics came from David and Dulcie Taylor, while David wrote the music. We look forward to seeing what comes next from David!
