Artie Amici

I'm Waiting Here For You

Artie Amici, one half of the Philadelphia area writing duo Kasio Jones, started as a prodigy drummer at age 5. He considers himself lucky to have incredible parents and studied drums with the late great Carl Mottola from age 12-22.

Session drumming in his late teens grew into a love for engineering, production and mixing. In his 30th year of life, he was offered the role of Donnie Dolce, the lead singer in the show band Fusion, in the Philadelphia franchise of the mighty Tony and Tina’s Wedding, where he starred for 15 years.

In late 2010, his kidneys decided they’ve had enough and went on the blink effectively ending his time on stage as a result of losing his voice and acquiring 55 pounds of edema.

Artie was trained in Bel Canto voice by the late Opera pro Charles ‘Chic’ Walker for 10 years, and out of the ashes, after being diagnosed with Pancreatic and Liver cancer in 2013 and declining any treatment or surgery, his voice molded itself into this “super pop creation” that has highlighted the 80 songs Kasio Jones has recorded since its formation. Kasio Jones is Artie’s partnership with, has he states, “the massively talented guitar virtuoso Chase Gorberg.”

Artie credits as a primary reason he is still alive, Dr. Randi Shayne of Beatcancer.org. He is grateful for everyone’s support and humbled to share his music.
