Growing up in Central Pennsylvania, Mark Brown has been writing songs since the age of 6 when he would listen to AM radio on his Six Million Dollar Man radio. He started playing musical instruments at age 9, starting with the cello. When his parents realized he was playing his cello ‘sideways’ (because he wanted to play bass guitar), they gave in, and Mark has been playing and recording ever since.
After college, Mark connected with the Syn D Cats featuring Matt Smith (formerly Poison), and played extensively in the Central PA and North East opening for such acts as Joan Jett, Badfinger, The Tragically Hip, The Romantics, Kix, Blue Oyster Cult, The Badlees, and many more. Afterwards, Mark continued with other acts including Handsome Uncle Johnny, Bloom Box, Shorty Porter and Star Radio.
Mark continues to write and record in his hometown of Pound Ridge, NY. His son Clyde is starting to learn guitar and his daughter Gia is known to sing along with Taylor Swift when no one is watching. Mark still enjoys the 1983 Fender P-Bass his father bought for him way back when.
