When Michael was 5, he would turn on his parents’ Hi-Fi and sit between the speakers while listening to Charlie Byrd albums. He was hooked and wanted to play guitar just like Charlie Byrd. Thus began his love for guitar and music.
At age 30, Michael built his first recording studio and began giving guitar, drum, steel drum, ukelele, mandolin, songwriting, and bass lessons. He started writing instrumental songs at that time as well. In the early 2000s, Mike began writing (and continues to write) acoustic guitar – meditation / relaxation / spa / healing type of music to help people heal who have health problems. He also enjoys writing lyric driven songs, and instrumental electric guitar tunes in the genre of Afro-Cuban music, Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova, Blues, Rock, and Speed Metal.
Over the last 33 years Michael has recorded regional musicians in his studio, helps artists write their songs, composes instrumentation, and assists with lyric writing. Mike really enjoys collaborating with other musicians as it helps him to grow in new directions.
Recently, Michael performed in a Jimmy Buffet type of band where he played guitar, drums, percussion, and steel drums. In his earlier years he performed as a drummer in Rock, Funk, Disco, Top-40, Country, Polka, and Wedding Bands.
The summer of 2022 Michael was hired as a Polka band performer, playing accordion on stage in a Natalie Portman AppleTV series called “Lady in The Lake”, being released Fall of 2023.
Michael continues to write songs and has over 650 songs in his BMI/BMG music catalog. His instrumental music has been featured in films, documentaries, TV shows, commercials, YouTube, etc. worldwide.
Michael has released 12 albums and is working on numbers 13 and 14 in parallel. He writes, performs, records, and produces all instruments on his albums.
Music has been his guiding light and savior his whole life, and he is grateful for the incredible impact on his life.
